Persitara v PSMS 0-3

A real relegation six pointer this one and what a thriller they produced. It's as if defence is a dirty word in Indonesian football as the visitors from Medan set about their mission with a flair and a purpose that would have done any title challenger proud.

With Zada, Elie Aiboy and Oktavianus on fire PSMS were rampant and had it not been for a linesman's eagerness to wave his little flag on a little stick they would have been out of sight at half time.

Costas got the first reacting after Esteban's drive had been tipped on to the upright from Rony Tri in the Persitara goal. If that was old school centre forward poaching then his second brought back memories of Alan Clarke and John Radford, diving in where the challenges were to steer Eiie Aiboy's cross across the keeper.

Aiboy was at the heart of the third, his mazy run bamboozling the defence and his pull back was coolly side footed home by the impressive Zada. What a shame inept editing meant we didn't see Aiboy's run again.

Quality performance from PSMS, it is difficult to believe they had only won four games all season before this. And as for Persitara? They had recently taken four points from Persipura and Persiwa.

Are you ready Chonburi?

Comments:
