New club with big ambitions in Vietnam
HANOI – The city of Hanoi has unveiled a new professional football club - Megastar United – based specifically in Ha Dong district earlier this week.
The 24-man strong team was established by the Megastar United Football Development Co. Ltd. and was built from players which came in third in the national Under-19 competition.
Club president Le Van Toan said Megastar United plan to take part in in Vietnam’s second division football league with goals to develop a football training centre in co-ordination with foreign clubs.
The squad will be fitted out in mainly red and blue kit with yellow being the alternate colour.
COMMENT - truly a daft name and why does every team have to be a United when they most definitely are not united in heritage or origin?
