Sergio van Dijk

He came, he saw, he conquered...and then he left!

That, in a tweet, pretty much sums up Sergio van Dijk's time in Indonesia.

After a prolific career in Australia's A League with Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United, the striker finally got his wish and moved to Indonesia, signing for Persib Bandung.

He quickly made an impression, rattling in goals seemingly for fun and the Bobotoh, Persib's fanatical supporters, took him to their hearts.

The Dutch born striker ended the campaign with an impressive 21 goals from 29 games ending just behind Persipura's Boas Solossa in the leading marksman list.

Having wooed the faithful in Bandung though, van Dijk has gone. 2014 will see him playing in Iran for Sepahan with the lure of AFC Champions' League thrown in.
